I think Edward Lear deserves to be highlighted today, if for no other reason than the fact he was able to rhyme with the word “Thermopylæ” !
There was an Old Man of Thermopylæ
There was an old man of Thermopylæ,
Who never did anything properly;
But they said, “If you choose, To boil eggs in your shoes,
You shall never remain in Thermopylæ.”

I wonder if this boiling eggs in his shoe guy was named Ephialtes…
Perhaps that was his downfall!
