Playing hooky today

I took the day off work to get some things done around the house. Most importantly, I need to get the bathroom project in gear.

And to think, this all started with replacing a $5.00 toilet supply line. Anyway, although you can’t really see it from this picture, my project du jour consists of “nipping” the tiles to fit around the toilet. It takes a lot longer than you might think. Almost everything else has to wait for the floor to be finished, although Unnamed Partner has started some painting, as you can see (we’re putting up wainscoating, hence the half-wall look.) And that is a brand new toilet. And those are brand new shut-off valves for the sink, which is sitting with the vanity in the front hallway.

If you don’t know about our bathroom repair saga, and you care, you can catch up on my previous posts here:

Please pardon out mess …

Wednesday poetry break: DIY edition

So maybe it doesn’t look like much to you today, but we’ve lost a lot of blood, sweat, and — actually, no tears yet. A bit of cursing has been heard, however ….

  1. I am glad at least part of your day was productive. I’d say the bathroom redo is looking good. Keep up the good work – both of you.

  2. There are few things more dangerous then that $5 replacement part…

Will you come finish mine next – I’m great at starting and terrible at finishing my projects.

  3. Nipping the tiles? You could’ve borrowed our tile saw, you know… in fact, I think we held on to our old one just in case you and UnamedPartner wanted it – though I guess I forgot to mention that to you. Will need a new blade.

BTW, your “scope creep” project is looking great!

  4. Please! No “Project Management” terms allowed here. The next person who mentions “stakeholders” will be deleted!

    But thanks.
