Gloria Steinem has an excellent piece in the LA Times today about the inclusion of Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket:

This isn’t the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need. Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It’s about making life more fair for women everywhere.

  1. Thanks for the post. Republicans of course being so late to the game of feminism, still don’t get it Sue. They truly think any woman will do, and just blink and crow sexism to every question and criticism of their moose eating girl. Excellent read.

  2. i had read the article yesterday and she made many great points.

    it only goes to show how out of touch mccain actually is. he thinks that women voters are so shallow that he will gain votes by throwing any woman at them. wrong! of all the very qualified republican women out there he chose palin? shows the kind of judgment the presidential hopeful really has.
