Stick a fork in McCain: Colin Powell endorses Obama

I admit I was getting frustrated with Colin Powell for not coming out and endorsing Barack Obama earlier, but after seeing his incredibly articulate discussion about the two candidates this morning on Meet the Press, I must say, he is forgiven. I truly believe this may be the final nail in coffin of the McCain campaign.

  1. Here’s hoping McCain/Palin is toast. I want a huge Obama victory that can be neither stolen nor questioned.

  2. No surprise. About 98% of black people will be voting for Barack Obama. Yet, ironically they are the ones who are complaining about racism.

Obama is no Bill Clinton. Clinton is a de-regualtor just like John McCain. Clinton was the one who introduced NAFTA, which McCain supports.

Obama is more of a extreme leftist. $1 trillion in new spending, more government programs and interventions, sending welfare checks to 45% of the 95% of the people in his tax plan because 45% of those people don’t even get taxed.

Politicians like Obama are such pimps. They promise to spend a trillion dollars on you, but they don’t tell you that they are using YOUR MONEY!

Obama’s Black Liberation Theology is based on Marxism for black people, the foundations of Communism. Even Bill Ayers was an extreme leftist.

Our economy is very important, McCain is better for our economy. I hope people get educated before they vote.

  3. Uh, Tina, don’t look now, but under the GOP in the last eight years we have literally borrowed trilions of dollars to finance tax cuts for the wealthiest people in the US. That is insane, and Senator McCain opposed the cuts when they happened. Now that he has had to appeal to extremists like you, he has lost his scruples and supports the cuts.

“What we have here is a form of looting.” — George Akerlof, Nobel Economics Prize winnner, on GOP tax cuts for the rich.

  4. Tina, um, did you actually listen to Colin Powell?

And this tactic of throwing around words like “leftist,” Marxism,” “Communism,” and “Liberation Theology” just really comes off as sounding pretty desperate. It seems the Republican party has decided to circle the wagons of the wealthy by creating this threat of overthrow by “communists.” That would be comical, if there weren’t people like you out there buying into it.

Which parts of Obama’s tax plans, specifically, do you find so offensive:

** Eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year.

** Raise capital gains and dividends rates to 20% for couples making over $250,000

** Give full-time workers making minimum wage an Earned Income Tax Credit benefit up to $555.

** Eliminate capital gains taxes on start-up and small businesses

    Hmmm??

These are all from the Tax Foundation. You can compare the tax plans of Obama and McCain and see if you still think McCain is “better for the economy.”

Tina, I respectfully, and strongly, disagree with you.

  5. Tina, I WISH Obama was an extreme leftist. OH, how I wish. He is clearly as middle of the road, boring ass, take no serious stands, kinda guy. I mean, shudder to think he’s support marriage equality, an all inclusive ENDA, or the end of DADT.

all of which cost nothing except dignity.

    please. get a grip.
