“Jerry Falwell in a Hawaiian Shirt”

O.k., so I am totally stealing this from over at Politits (thank you, DCup!). But it’s the best explanation I’ve heard yet about why the selection of Rick Warren to give the Inaugural Invocation is a slap in the face to many of your fellow Americans.

And a big, big thank you to all the hardworking folks at Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

  1. Thanks for the link! Rob Boston and Americans United do a fantastic job explaining why this matters.

  2. I grew up around these kind of “preachers” and I am glad I did not vote for either McCain or Obama. Actually, had George Carlin still been alive, I might have voted for him, but that’s about it on anyone outside of the corporate chosen political candidates I would waste my time voting for. Sorry, but voting against is much different than finding someone to vote for. And voting today means validating a corrupt system designed to castrate our beliefs. Thanks, Jim
